California United Ways Launch Relief Funds in Response to Devastating Wildfires

In response to the wildfires, United Way of Northern California (Camp Fire), and United Way of Greater Los Angeles – in coordination with United Way of Ventura County (Woolsey and Hill Fires) – have established emergency relief efforts to help those impacted. 

Camp Fire: To donate to United Way of Northern California to help victims of the Camp Fire, text BUTTEFIRE to 91999 or click here.

Hill and Woolsey Fires: To donate to the Disaster Relief Fund set up by United Way of Greater Los Angeles, in partnership with United Way of Ventura County, to help those impacted by the Hill and Woolsey Fires click here.

Lyft rideshare passengers nationwide can offer support to victims by riding with Lyft and choosing to round up their fares through its "Round Up & Donate" platform. Proceeds go to United Way’s California wildfire recovery efforts and the 2-1-1 program. Learn more

As of March 31, 2018 the United Way Network raised more than $86.53 million for mid- and long-term recovery efforts related to Hurricane Harvey, Hurricanes Irma/Maria and the 2017 earthquakes in Mexico.

Almost $55.21 million has been raised for Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts

Almost $30 million has been raised for Hurricane Irma/Maria recovery efforts

Almost $1.4 million has been raised for Mexico Earthquake recovery efforts

Almost $266,000 has been designated for where the money is most needed

These funds will help local United Ways support mid- and long-term recovery throughout the affected regions. With your support, we can help rebuild communities. 100% of individual donations given to these funds will be distributed to the affected areas.

In 2017, the United Way Network raised more than $75.98 million for mid- and long-term recovery efforts related to Hurricane Harvey, Hurricanes Irma/Maria and the earthquake in Mexico. Almost $54.68 million for Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts; more than $20 million for Hurricane Irma/Maria recovery efforts; more than $1.21 million for Mexico Earthquake recovery efforts and more than $90,000 was designated for where the money is most needed.
